Valentine's Heart Clippie Tutorial
Supplies Needed:
16 1/2 inch strip of Heart Ribbon (5/8 inch width)
4 3/4 inch strip of White Grosgrain Ribbon (3/8 inch width)
2 1/2 inch strip of White Grosgrain Ribbon (3/8 inch width)
Metal Clippie
Needle and Thread
Straight Pin
Hot Glue Gun
Wood Burner Tool (optional)
Directions:
Step 1: Seal the edges of each piece of ribbon with the wood burner tool. If you do not have this tool, then you can skip this step.
Step 2: Glue the long white strip of ribbon to the clippie.
Step 3: Loop the heart ribbon around two times and place the straight pin in the center. Fold out the loops so that you start to form a bow shape.
Step 4: Sew up the center of the bow.
Step 5: Pinch the bow at the center to give the bow shape.
Step 6: Holding onto the center of the bow, wrap the thread around the bow tightly. Tie a knot on the back side.
Step 7: Glue the finished bow to the prepared clippie at the center.
Step 8: Glue the small strip of the white grosgrain ribbon around the clippie and bow to hide the thread.

DeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteI used to make those and haven't in a long time. We are in need of some around here for my daughter and thank you so much for the tutorial. It will help me refresh my skills. I love the Valentines ribbon and I have some Hello Kitty ribbon that needs using.
Great tutorial! I have two little ladies I need to start making bows for! I like the idea of making them yourself so they can match their outfits! Love the blog and will be following! :)
