Valentine's Damask Hair Bow Tutorial
Supplies Needed:
24 inches of 1 1/2 width Damask Grosgrain Ribbon
24 inches of 1 1/2 width Red Grosgrain Ribbon
3 1/4 inches of 3/8 width White Grosgrain Ribbon
3 of 3/8 width Red Grosgrain Ribbon
2 3/4" long Metal Barrette
Needle and Thread
Hot Glue Gun
Wood Burner Tool (optional)
Directions:
Step 1: Seal each end of ribbon with the wood burner tool, to prevent fraying. If you do not have a wood burner, you can skip this step.
Step 2: Remove the center piece of the metal barrette.
Step 3: Glue the strip of white grosgrain ribbon to the top of the barrette.
Step 4: Fold the damask ribbon twice making two loops.
Step 5: Open the loops so they are next to each other.
Step 6: Use your needle and thread to sew up the center of the looped ribbon.
Step 7: Pull the thread tight and pinch the center.
Step 8: Wrap the thread around the bow, pull tight, and tie a knot to secure.
Step 9: Repeat steps 4-8 with the red ribbon.
Step 10: Glue the red bow to the center of the barrette.
Step 11: Glue the damask bow to the red bow at the center.
Step 12: Glue the small red piece of ribbon to the center of the barrette on the bottom.
Step 13: Wrap the red ribbon around the entire bow and glue it down to the bottom of the barrette.
Step 14: Replace the center piece of the metal barrette.
Step 15: Glue a large rhinestone to the center of the bow.
