Valentine's Hair Bows Day 4

Bottle Cap Hair Bow Tutorial

Supplies Needed:
28" of 1 1/2" width Light Purple Grosgrain Ribbon
3" of 3/8" width Light Purple Grosgrain Ribbon
3 1/4 of 3/8" width White Grosgrain Ribbon
2 3/4" long Metal Barrette
Blank Bottle Cap (for crafting)
Coordinating Scrapbook Paper
3 Small Rhinestones
Clear Plastic Cover (for bottle cap)
Scissors
Pencil
Straight Pin
Needle and Thread
Hot Glue Gun
Wood Burner tool (optional)

Directions:
Step 1: Using the clear plastic cover, trace a circle on the back side of the scrapbook paper,

Step 2: Cut out the circle and glue it to the inside of the bottle cap.

Step 3: Glue the rhinestones wherever you desire to the scrapbook paper.

Step 4: Glue the clear plastic cover to the bottle cap.  This protects the paper and rhinestones and makes it look finished.

Step 5: Seal each end of ribbon with the wood burner tool, to prevent fraying.  If you do not have a wood burner, you can skip this step.

Step 6: Remove the center piece of the metal barrette.

Step 7: Glue the strip of white grosgrain ribbon to the top of the barrette.

Step 8: Fold the purple ribbon twice making two loops.  Place a straight pin in the center.

Step 9: Spread out the two loops.  I pulled the top loop down and the inside loop up.

Step 10: Use your needle and thread to sew up the center of the looped ribbon.

Step 11: Wrap the thread tightly and pinch the center.

Step 12: Tie a knot on the bottom side of the bow.  I first stick the needle through the ribbon half way.

Then, wrap the thread around the needle two times.

Finish pulling the needle through making sure the loops stay still.  Cut off the excess thread.

Step 13: Glue the bow to the center of the barrette.

Step 14: Glue the finished bottle cap to the bow.

Enjoy your bow! This could be altered for any occasion!
