Vegas, baby!

This is one of my favorite gifts I gave this year! It's been so hard keeping it a surprise!  It's part of a trip to Las Vegas!

It is a trifold card that said "What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas, Cause we're going to Vegas, baby!"  I loved all the glittered letters and Las Vegas stickers I found at Michael's and Hobby Lobby.

Here is the front:

Pretty Packages

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  I sure did!  It's so nice to be able to relax and spend time with my friends and family!  Also, I'm off work (both jobs) for a week so I get to catch up on my rest!

I'm a proud new owner of a DSLR camera and I had to test it out with my Christmas tree!  I love how this photo turned out.

Merry Christmas!

From Amy Giggles Designs, I would like to wish you a Very Merry Christmas!
I hope you are able to relax and spend some time with all of your loved ones!
Thank you for all of the support on my blog! I am so excited that is growing and I can't wait to share new ideas!

While most people I just give a verbal thank you, this year I wanted to hand out thank you notes. I have created some simple thank you notes that you can use too!

Burlap Christmas Stockings

Burlap Christmas Stockings

I was lucky enough to make these custom stockings for a great family for Christmas this year.  They were super fun to make!

The base is made out of burlap and the band is made with red ticking fabric and muslin.  Each band top was personalized for each family member.  The girls got three small ruffles, the mother has two larger ruffles, and the father got a simple, yet masculine band.

Burlap Christmas Pillows

T-Shirt Burlap Pillow

I had to do some t-shirt extensions this season and I was left with the front of the shirts.  This left the full design, so I knew I could make something cute with these.
Pillows are so simple to make, so this could be an easy and festive gift idea.

Handmade Gift Ideas Day 1

Personalized Notebooks

I always like to make something for my solos and duet girls for Christmas.  Because I teach so many of them, I wanted something easy but cute.  I found these notebooks at the end of summer in the clearance dollar section at Michael's and knew they were perfect!  The striped notebooks have an anchor on them, but I knew I could hide it once I personalized them!

This is a perfect idea for someone who you need a thoughtful little something to give!

Supplies Needed:
Notebooks (Found at the Dollar Section in Michael's)
Scrapbook Paper
Black Cricut Vinyl
Double Sided Tape or Tape Runner
Paper Trimmer or Scissors
Cricut Machine (optional)

Step 1: Begin by removing the plastic bag from the notebooks.  Keep this for packaging later.

Fabric Strip Tutu Tutorial

Okay, I know we have all seen this tutu on Pinterest:

I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, but was sad that the link took me to Etsy instead of a tutorial.
I wanted to make my own version of the skirt, so I thought it would be a perfect Christmas dance costume idea!  We always keep our Christmas dance costumes simple, so handmade costumes are perfect!  I have 9 5th and 6th grade girls in my class that I teach, but this tutorial can be adjusted for any age and size.

Supplies:
3 yards of fabric total
Elastic
Pinking Shears
Ruler / Measuring Tape
Sewing Machine

Directions:
Step 1: Begin by prewashing and ironing your fabric.  Below are my nine coordinating fabrics.  I love these because they are different colors but they still go together.

Fabric for circles: 1/4" yard
Fabric for letters: 1/4"yard
Matching Thread
Bias Tape
Fusible Interfacing
Scissors or Rotary Cutter

Directions:

New Blog

I am so excited to finally begin this craft blog!  Once I discovered how inspiring the online craft world is about a year ago, I knew I needed to be a part of it.  It has taken me a long time designing and preparing this blog so I am excited to be posting.  That's enough about me..it's time to get my first tutorial ready.
